The Yukon public service has a unique opportunity for recent graduates who have a post-secondary diploma or degree but lack real-world work experience. With GradCorps, you can kick-start your career while putting your passion, ideas and energy to work with the Yukon public service.

The Yukon Water Board Secretariat has a GradCorps opportunity for a Licensing Officer. This position is responsible for determining the adequacy of applications for water licences and operating plans for Class 4 Placer Land Use Operations, presenting applications to the Board and drafting final licences and approvals. Throughout the licensing process, the Licensing Officer communicates to all Parties, ensures that legislated requirements and policies are met, and that procedural fairness is achieved.

This position will work for a one-year Term from approximately April 2025 to March 2026. The salary will be 80% of the starting salary - $75,601

Essential Qualifications
Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. If this opportunity interests you, please submit your resume clearly indicating your:

  • Post-secondary diploma in environmental science, natural resources management, law or physical/natural sciences;
  • Experience preparing written reports;
  • Experience making oral presentations is an asset;
  • Experience working with natural resource legislation or policy is an asset.

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment: Class 5 Yukon Drivers' License.

Job Requirements: Must be willing to travel throughout the Yukon.

NOTE: To qualify for the GradCorps program, you must:

• be a resident of Yukon or a person of Yukon First Nations ancestry*
• have graduated with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution within the past two years (2023, 2024 or 2025 grads - all requirements for graduation must be complete before internship start date)
• have little or no work experience in your field of study

*If you are a resident of Yukon who completed your studies outside of the territory, you may apply up to two years after graduation.
