Position Summary

Tourism Regina is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is excited about the opportunity to welcome visitors to our wonderful city, managing events, curating visits and creating partnerships that will leave guests with a visit that will ensure that they want to come back.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute corporate and public events (virtual, hybrid, and in-person) aligned with organizational goals and Council initiatives
  • Coordinate event logistics, including promotions, permits, contracts, vendor negotiations, and facility management.
  • Scout venues and manage event details like décor, catering, entertainment, guest lists, and promotional materials.
  • Oversee employees and volunteers during event setup, execution, and takedown.
  • Develop and lead internal event strategies for employee recognition, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide event production expertise to support Tourism Regina’s marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with teams to create event materials, including promotions, collateral, and branded merchandise.
  • Manage supplier contracts for apparel, promotional materials, and e-commerce operations.
  • Liaise with leadership to present event plans, gather feedback, and report on outcomes.
  • Manage budgets for special events and activation activities.
  • Research event trends, identify new opportunities, and generate community interest.
  • Track and evaluate event success using data-driven insights.

Key Qualifications

  • Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a degree or diploma in hospitality management, marketing, business, communications or a similar discipline, and three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in event planning and activation, or an equitable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience as an events planner or organizer.
  • Project management knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to align plans and activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally, in writing and through presentations
  • Analytical skills to identify trends and challenge
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation.

WORKING / OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.

  • Successful candidates may be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check per the City of Regina's Criminal Record Check Policy.
  • Proof of education is required.
  • Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies, skills, and knowledge.
