Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a 2'nd Line F404 Production Supervisor. The successful incumbent will be responsible for controlling the F404 engine production output by determining the production requirements of the maintenance activities conducted at 2nd Line as it pertains to the F404 Engine Bay and Test Cell. The 2nd Line F404 Production Supervisor provide technical expertise and mentoring to 2nd Line maintenance personnel at the F404 Engine Bay and Test Cell. Please note this position is based out of the Canadian Forces Base in Saguenay, Quebec

Essential Responsibilities

  • Control production output by determining the production requirements of Second Line maintenance activities carried out at Second Line and providing daily status updates.
  • Coordinate the execution of Second Line maintenance activities by setting the priorities for scheduled and unscheduled work, including the optimization of engine builds. Continually improve the ERF via efficiency & utilization tracking, cycle time reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentoring to Second Line personnel.
  • Provide technical assistance on any issues concerning the F404 Engine on a 24/7 basis to First and Second Line personnel, NDHQ or MAM as required.
  • Submit Field Activity Reports (FARs) on any significant engine related problem in a timely manner.
  • Fill in and support the 1st Line TSR / GCU Coordinator as needed.
  • Training as required to meet the contract performance outcomes IAW DND Contract W8485-13DL02/001, Annex A, Performance Work Statement (PWS), Para 7.5.2., including formal training/briefings on new or existing equipment (i.e. MDADS, Borescope Equipment, etc.)
  • Maintain the Bottom Line Measures (BLM) database on a daily basis.
  • Other secondary administrative duties, including setup/tracking of MOS metrics. Ensure Health & Safety practices & training reqs. are adhered to.
  • To meet Production demands, may hold Qualifications/Authorizations as necessary and assist with ERF shop output.

Position Requirements

  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent) and 5-10 years' experience with hands-on maintenance, maintenance supervision or engineering support of the F404-GE-400 engine in the last 10 years.
  • Proficient with using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Access).
  • Detailed system-level knowledge of the F404-GE-400 and APU engines.
  • An understanding of DND's Technical Airworthiness program (or civilian equivalent) and associated requirements.
  • Experience working with DMS, CBMSS, IETM, MDADS, etc.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Level 2 Secret Clearance.
  • For the CFB Bagotville position, must be capable of communicating and performing their duties in both French and English.
  • Action Oriented - Not afraid of being creative when taking on new challenges and resolving them in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Problem Solving - With the different levels of experience at the 2nd Line Engine Bay, this individual will require exceptional problem solving skills as he/she will become heavily relied upon.
  • Customer Focus - Proactively addresses internal and external customers' concerns while establishing a positive working relationship.
  • Written Communications - With the requirement to write FARs on significant engine related issues, it is imperative that communication be clear and concise.
  • Functional / Technical Skills - Possess strong skills to carry out their duties confidently and professionally.
  • Approachability - Must have a welcoming attitude who works well with others and is a good listener.
