Job Description:

*** This is a 1-year fixed term role ***

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating project management activities across various teams. Reporting to Director, Brand & Marketing Services, you will be responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to ensure the successful completion of a major brand project. The successful candidate must be a strategic, creative thinker, as well as a seasoned project manager as this initiative will integrate into other organizational change initiatives. The Project Manager works closely with Director and Lead Manager for Canada, as well as the leads across the business units to coordinate schedules, track progress, and facilitate communication of the program.

What will you do?

  • Develop project plans and monitor progress, including status reporting, monitoring and updating risks and issues, project plan updates, onboarding/offboarding of external vendor resources, SharePoint administration, and meeting coordination including the documentation of minutes

  • Prepare for and lead or support project meetings, summarizing details of the discussion and capturing important action items or issues for follow up

  • Build relationships with stakeholders, facilitate collaboration between team members and act as a contact for escalations

  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using defined change management methodology

  • Maintain project documentation repositories

  • Provide proactive and regular updates on project status and any gaps that need to be addressed

  • Identify, engage and maintain relationships with partners to the scope of the project

What do you need to succeed?

  • University or college degree in Business, Marketing, Digital, Communications or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in a project coordination or administrative support role

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

  • Proficient in using project management software, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant tools

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices

  • Relationship management and consulting: Strong partnering approach to build and maintain relationships with key business partners, exercise diplomacy, mediation, and a consultative, collaborative approach, especially when dealing with senior leaders

  • Leading through influence: Guide project team without direct management authority; hold stakeholders accountable to the brand; communicate goals and plans effectively to business partners

  • CAPM or PMP is an asset

  • Experience in a marketing agency or large marketing team is an asset

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

  • Ability to manage multiple activities with competing timelines and varying complexity

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
