We're currently looking for top-notch Building Code Engineers/Consultants who can tackle complex projects and work with or lead a team of associates. If you're someone who takes your job seriously, but also has a great sense of humour, we want you to join our awesome team in Montréal (Laval) office.

The quest!

  • You will work on a variety of projects related to Building and Fire Code services and Code application. You will work with or lead a team of associates to manage full cycle projects by providing high quality services to clients from private and public sectors;
  • Manage project staffing, budget, profitability, and delivery;
  • Represent LRI Engineering in all interactions with clients and be the contact person for client consultation on all assigned projects;
  • Visit sites and attend meetings with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction;
  • Review drawings and provide alternative solutions;
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and proposals;
  • Manage client expectations in terms of quality and schedule;
  • Conduct peer review of projects being executed for various clients;
  • Deploy staff and other necessary resources to ensure timely completion of projects;
  • Mentor and coach early career employees in the team;
  • Identify and actively pursue business opportunities and contribute to marketing efforts as required.

What’s in your bag?

  • Relevant degree in engineering or architecture. The candidate can also be a Technical Consultant with 10 years or experience or more;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Building Code Engineering/Consulting for medium to large size residential, commercial, institutional and public projects (e.g., hospitals, universities, malls, airports, towers, etc.);
  • Expert level knowledge of the Québec Construction Code (parts 3, 9 and 10), the National Building Code (NBC) and the fire codes (NFC & NFPA);
  • Analytical, time management, and organizational skills;
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness;
  • Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities;
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and clients;
  • Able to obtain government security clearance;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
