DUTIES:
Reporting to a departmental manager or designate, this position will provide overall management for every aspect of the design, development and implementation of major corporate-wide program initiatives and events, supervise and direct work effort of all resources (internal and vendor) assigned to the program. This position defines the requirements and approach to meet organizational goals which is comprised of multiple inter-dependent work streams spanning software elements, new and changed business processes, changes to organizational structure and capabilities. Initiates and promotes cross functional working relationships with project sponsors, business community, investors, developers, senior management, vendor and key clients within the Corporation; Manages the expectations and demands of various stakeholders; Mentors and develops leadership strength and acts as an information resource for the project. Negotiates resources and obtains financial, physical, or human resources to support projects or programs; establishes program schedule and integrates development of best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives; Conducts reviews of the project's status and associated staff. Responsible for vendor management including coordinating vendor activities; Oversees the development of Contracts, Service Level Agreements and the evaluation, selection and procurement of products and/or services from vendors; establishes and reviews project plans, schedules, and staffing requirements; manages and directs project team and removes roadblocks which may inhibit project success. Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues; Prepares Council reports and presents to council and/or senior management. Undertakes strategic communication targeted to the private sector, partnership development, business attraction, retention efforts, and public relations initiatives.
