What You Will Do

Reporting to Manager, Design and Development Reviews, the Technical Review Lead (TRL) is responsible for overseeing and conducting Technical Review submittals for Metrolinx Subway and LRT projects, TTC's capital projects and 3rd party urban development projects. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating multiple technical reviews for various projects and contracts concurrently. Each assigned undertaking may contain numerous submittals, including engineered design packages, contract documents, requests for information (RFI's), meeting minutes, presentations, work plans, studies, reports, and cost estimates as required. The TRL is expected to host, chair and attend project meetings with stakeholders to provide progress updates and resolve conflicts arising from review comments, responses and rebuttals. This role includes detailed administration of technical reviews including maintaining various tracking sheets, ensuring all documents are retained in accordance to the established project retention protocols. This also includes demonstrating behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment as well as helping to remove barriers and accommodating employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies. Participating in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program is a requirement.

Might require visits to construction sites or Metrolinx offices, surface and subway transit areas, operations and administrative facilities, having a variety of on-site environments/conditions all of which can take place outside normal working hours.

What Skills Do You Bring?

• Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices
• Comprehensive knowledge of technical review principles and practices.
• Familiarity with project management information systems and reporting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of the Construction Act.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

• University degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or in Architecture, combined with extensive experience in large multi-disciplined engineering projects.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the Province of Ontario.
• Registration as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) with a PMI is an asset

• A valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's licence would be an asset. May be required use of own vehicle required for visits to construction sites that are not easily accessible by public transits.
