As a Technical Project Lead, reporting to the Manager of Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Ontario's automotive and mobility workforce. You'll spearhead the enhancement and expansion of the OVIN Learn platform by integrating cutting-edge learning pathways and building an innovative job portal that connects talent with industry opportunities. In this dynamic role, you will lead the ongoing development of a platform that is not only functional and user-friendly but also responsive to the rapidly evolving needs of the sector. Responsibilities:

• Project Management

  • Provide technical support by defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Drive success through meticulous project planning, maintaining timelines and budgets, while ensuring the seamless delivery of innovative talent and skills strategies for Ontario's automotive sector.
  • Track spending, forecast future investments, and produce insightful reports that shape the direction of workforce development.
  • Guide both internal and external teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment to deliver exceptional results that meet business and technical requirements.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure alignment, delivering high-quality, impactful solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Be a technical leader within the team with a clear vision, including developers, designers, and business analysts, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to success.
  • Set priorities, resolve roadblocks, and keep the team motivated and focused on delivering projects on time and with excellence.

• Technical Oversight:

  • Be the technical heartbeat of the project, communicating status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders and providing guidance to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks, ensuring the delivery of a high-performing, scalable platform that meets user needs.
  • Leverage cutting-edge tools such as ASANA to track performance, generate key insights, and document progress, conducting post-project evaluations to continually improve processes.
  • Continue to develop and maintain platforms that are apart of the talent strategy and workforce planning initiatives.

• Skills, Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a must.
  • PMP certification or on the path to completion.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in leading technical projects and platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, WordPress, LearnDash, Tableau, Java, or C#) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., ASANA).
  • A strong background in software development, IT infrastructure, or systems integration.
  • Proven ability to lead complex programs, forge impactful partnerships, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of success in fast-paced environments.
