Job Summary

The Sr. Advisor - Talent Programs is an exciting opportunity to join the Talent & Learning Centre of Excellence within the UHN People & Culture (P&C) department at UHN. Working closely with various People and Culture team members and organizational leaders, the Sr. Advisor - Talent Programs will help shape the development of robust and integrated talent management practices and programs at UHN.

This role is critical to ensuring we are meeting the current and future needs of our diverse workforce, as well as the strategic goals and aspirations of the overall organization.

The Senior Advisor - Talent Programs will apply a balanced approach between systems thinking and a human centric view to their work, and use diagnostic models and data, to design and develop differentiated talent programs. Key to this mandate will be delivering, measuring and sustaining results with associated programs and activities. Priority areas include, but are not limited to, employee and physician engagement and listening, employee recognition, organizational design, and more.

Duties

  • You will work across the enterprise to design and implement key talent initiatives critical to the UHN strategic plan, as well as work with clients to identify business needs and design appropriate programs and solutions
  • You will contribute to streamlining and optimizing ongoing talent management processes to maximize business adoption, including providing tools and support to People and Culture stakeholders (e.g., HR Business Partners) and leaders across the organization
  • You will act as a strategic partner within People and Culture and UHN and help drive our culture by designing and facilitating sustainable programs within a uniquely complex healthcare environment
  • You will deliver and design at the enterprise level, requiring strong diagnostic, influencing and stakeholder management abilities and a focus on co-creation
  • You will advise and guide leaders on complex organizational effectiveness, talent management, and development matters
  • You will develop metrics and monitor the effectiveness of the talent processes and programs, recommending improvements or other interventions as required
  • You will create compelling strategy and process-related support materials
  • You will continuously broaden your knowledge to ensure UHN's talent programs incorporate best and emerging practices

Qualifications

  • You hold a university or college degree/diploma in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or a related field, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Certification in Change Management, Adult Education, Conflict Management and/or Coaching would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a field related to talent development, adult learning or human resources, with at least 2 years experience in an organization of significant size and complexity. Previous experience working at the Senior Advisor level would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working within healthcare and/or a unionized environment would be an asset.
  • You are a high performer, adept at building productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in talent management, learning, leadership development, organization development, and culture change best practices. Relevant certifications would be considered an asset.
  • You have strong diagnostic and consulting capability
  • You are an excellent facilitator, with strong communication skills
  • You are able to work independently, be innovative, strategically aligned and self-confident
  • You are action-oriented and can make quick, quality decisions to deliver superior results
  • You thrive when managing competing priorities within a face-paced and dynamic environment
