Background

Founded on the legacy of Rick Hansen's Man In Motion World Tour, the Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is a Canadian registered charity with the vision of creating a fully inclusive and accessible world where people with disabilities are living to their full potential. Through our programs and partnerships, we break down barriers for people with disabilities by changing attitudes, creating accessible spaces and inspiring an inclusive society.

The Rick Hansen Foundation School Program (RHFSP) believes in the importance of teaching youth about equity, inclusion and empowering them to be difference makers so they can become leaders in creating an accessible, inclusive world. Our program offers:

  • Educational resources that teach youth the benefits of diversity, cooperation, and consideration of others; and
  • Speaker presentations to classrooms, schools, and youth groups that spark meaningful conversations about disability.

Role Purpose

  • Deliver engaging and impactful presentations to youth in Grades K-12 through video conferencing technology, and in some cases in person;
  • Share personal stories and experiences with youth audiences, allowing youth to learn first-hand from people with disabilities and build connections to the disability community;
  • Contribute to inspiring and creating more youth accessibility leaders; and
  • Share information about the Rick Hansen Foundation, RHF School Program and Rick Hansen.
