About TEO


Transformation & Enterprise Operations (TEO) employs about 1,580 members across Canada, the US and around the world. TEO is responsible for operating and expanding shared services related to Payments and Trade, Cash Processing, and Finance Shared Services such as GL Reconciliations, Accounts Payable and reporting services. We are accountable for enhancing RBC's industry leading position in processing vast array of cash management, payments and trade products for clients on a global basis. Within TEO, the Transformation and AI-Ops (T&AIO) team is accountable for the TEO strategy and developing and delivering programs across TEO to deliver on the strategy and associated goals.

The T&AIO team is responsible for driving transformation and strategy horizontally within TEO to achieve our 2024 Strategy by inspiring innovation, building transformation capabilities, and facilitating strategic programs. The team is charged with leading transformation, strategy and change management in support of disrupting the current way we operate by adopting a new way of working; driving operational excellence; improving our user and client experience; embracing next generation technologies and optimization approaches; and, coming up with innovative ways to drive efficiencies. Success is enabling the businesses in achieving superior business performance and the development of an industry leading shared services organization and to help drive scalable and meaningful outcomes aligned to our strategy and move TEO towards its future state goals.

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Transformation and AI-Ops, you will be responsible for executing on all aspects of our Efficiency and Integration priority to evolve into a dynamic, global, future-ready team. This role is responsible for enabling the integration of data and innovation into transformation projects by collaborating with technology and data experts to deliver impactful solutions. The role is an enabler in the adoption of data-driven insights, emerging technologies and innovative practices that support organizational change and achieve TEO's business and strategic objectives.

What will you do?

  • Enablement strategy and leadership:

    • Develop and execute strategies to embed data and innovation into transformation initiatives

    • Act as a key enabler for technology and data experts, ensuring alignment with business transformation goals

    • Champion the role of data and innovation in driving organizational change and value creation

    • Establish frameworks and toolkits to accelerate the adoption of innovation practices and data solutions

  • Collaboration with technology and data experts:

    • Partner with technology and data teams to integrate cutting-edge solutions into transformation projects

    • Build trusted relationships with key technical and non-technical stakeholders across TEO, T&O, and the RBC Enterprise to identify and learn best practices that can be extended across other teams to address opportunities for operational improvements

    • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into actionable business outcomes

    • Build and grow your TEO business knowledge through in-depth exposure and partnership with the vertical and horizontal teams

  • Transformation project integration:

    • Embed data-driven insights and innovative technologies into transformation project roadmaps

    • Define clear success metrics for data and innovation components within broader transformation initiatives

    • Support project teams in identifying and prioritizing high-impact use cases for data and innovation

    • Provide guidance on scaling successful pilots and proof of concepts across TEO

    • Fuel transformation via challenging the status quo to develop innovative ideas, articulate the transformation journey ahead, and work to identify roadblocks and establish mitigation plans

    • Effectively manage competing priorities and partner with stakeholders to ensure initiatives are prioritized for greatest benefit and impact to TEO

  • Innovation enablement and impact measurement:

    • Identify opportunities to introduce emerging tech within transformation projects

    • Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to co-create innovative solutions with stakeholders and IT partners.

    • Track progress on transformation initiatives driven by data

    • Regularly report outcomes to leadership, highlighting ROI and lessons learned

    • Support the Director, Transformation & Innovation in utilizing a multi-lever approach to support the scaling of simplification & standardization of processes; leveraging data and automation; enhancing our analytics to improve our decision-making ability; and identifying synergies across operations teams and with IT partners

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Services

  • 2+ years of experience in initiative delivery, change management, and coaching

  • Technical literacy - familiarity (2+ years) with key technologies, tools and data analysis practices

  • Business Communication and Influencing skills combined with strong Story Boarding and Presentation skills

  • Expertise in aligning data and innovation with business transformation goals

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with technical experts and business stakeholders
