Job Description

MISSION

The Specialist, Retail Projects will support the store development process and work directly with the stores and home office teams to ensure successful completion of approved store development projects. The primary focus will be to ensure optimal employee and customer experience, with minimal business impacts. This role serves as the single point of contact for the store throughout the implementation of changes and act as a liaison between the store, vendor and home office teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Act as an advocate for our customers and employees by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes while proactively anticipating customer expectations and needs
  • Work closely with the store development project manager, construction, store design, visual merchandising and other departments to ensure flawless execution of projects at the store level
  • Represent the store development team as a store experience and operations subject matter expert
  • Create project schedules, store project calendars and support documents in conjunction with dates agreed on with other project team members
  • Support in creating project budgets, issuing purchase orders, submitting invoices, and tracking and reporting on project budget expenditures
  • Create task and execution plans, outlining the sequence of activities, spatial changes, cross functional deliverables, and labour estimates required to achieve the new store design and merchandising plan set-up
  • Track labour hours used by the store for budget reconciliation and identify improvements for future labour estimates
  • Create reports and presentations and provide updates in store development project meetings to communicate project status and risks
  • Lead store project calls, including kick-off, merch plan review, and weekly store check-in calls • Prepare new stores for handover, load-in, and opening process and support with the store closure process
  • Manage the deficiency and issue list in collaboration with the construction and store design teams to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Collect feedback from stores and home office teams and identify opportunities for improvement to share with the project delivery team through hind-sighting activities
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them
  • Assist with the integration of new technologies and initiatives into project planning and execution

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or college diploma is an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years working in a retail environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong financial acumen required for budget planning
  • Experience with Project Management Software would be an asset
