We have an exciting career opportunity for a 2 Project Managers eager to join our talented Strategy & Foresight Department!

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager, Fare Policy and Planning, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects while ensuring consistency with applicable strategies, commitments and goals. As Project Manager, you will be accountable for on-time, on budget and successful delivery of assigned projects. To this end, you will facilitate the defining of the project scope, goals and deliverables.

  • You will review project scope documentation, ensuring objectives are clearly defined and approved.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and facilitate project scope, tasks, goals, deliverables and resource requirements.
  • You will develop full scale project plans.
  • As Project Manager, you will lead project communication initiatives to ensure that all project team members have an understanding of roles and delivery responsibilities, ensuring project deliverables are met.
  • Manage project budgets, plan and facilitate regular team meetings
  • You will be expected to collaborate with all team members to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • You will support the implementation of policy enhancements for the TTC and ensure that the quality of the time customers spend with TTC meets the highest standards of transit worldwide.
  • To this end, you will be responsible for developing a diverse range of change management activities, customer policy improvement initiatives as well as the development and implementation of related strategy, methodology, policy, guidelines and standards.
  • You will be required to participate in the TTC's Customer Service Ambassador Program.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Your application will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of project management, and project management techniques and tools.
  • Your educational background will include a College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration or related discipline; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent, combined with progressively responsible project management experience and demonstrated experience in budgeting and cost control is integral and will contribute to the success in this role.
  • Your experience with project management methodologies and developing business cases is required.
  • Experience with strategic policy development and planning concepts is required.
  • Your application will also demonstrate discipline specific or technical knowledge related to projects being managed may be required.
  • Your knowledge of scheduling practices and techniques in a project management organization is required.
  • Proven experience in and knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles, cost control, project and budget management is also required.
  • Your application will demonstrate proven strategic planning, risk and change management experience.
  • Your familiarity with public transit services in Toronto, including current issues, challenges and opportunities, as well as best practices and trends in policy, planning, and customer experience across the transit industry.
  • Your application will also demonstrate your ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams as well as the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive, fair and consistent manner.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is considered an asset.
