As part of the CorHealth program at Ontario Health, the Lead, Health System Change Management contributes their growing subject matter knowledge, experience, and insight to the implementation of products and services to improve cardiac, stroke, vascular, and emergency care for Ontarians.

As part of the Health System Change Management & Program Delivery team in the CorHealth program, the Lead will advise and actively collaborate with project teams, colleagues, and stakeholders on high priority provincial projects and change initiatives. The Lead will apply change management methodologies, processes, and tools to support the successful implementation and adoption of transformational projects and initiatives.

The successful applicant should be able to work effectively as a part of a dedicated team and be passionate about supporting initiatives that improve the quality-of-care delivery for Ontario.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Designs and implements change management strategies, frameworks, tools, and tactics using evidence-based change management methodologies and leading practices to support large, complex initiatives, and advance the change management practice at CorHealth
  • Leads end-to-end change management activities and processes for small to medium scale initiatives or for specific change management workstreams within a large project
  • Delivers high quality strategic advice, counsel, and thought leadership to model and drive strategic change, leading and facilitating cross-functional ideation, innovation, and problem-solving
  • Supports the design, development, and implementation of assigned initiatives, including providing direction and guidance to colleagues and organizational partners
  • Actively engages with subject matter experts to provide thought leadership and strategic advice
  • Ensure ongoing health system process improvement capabilities by educating, training, coaching, and mentoring leaders and staff throughout the organization in implementation and change management methodologies, processes, and tools

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in health sciences, health policy, health administration, or a related field of study (master's degree preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years relevant work experience (certification in change management an asset)
  • Experience developing, leading, and enabling health system strategy and change initiatives
  • Experience planning and implementing large scale, multi-year programs/projects in complex environments
  • Experience leading healthcare change initiatives and/or clinical process improvements within a health service organization (experience with health care providers preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of Ontario's health care system, including gaps between actual and ideal care, reasons for these gaps, and potential mechanisms available to address them
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships and consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with a broad network of teams, individuals, and stakeholders
  • Excellent problem recognition and critical thinking abilities to manage complex problems and inform CorHealth leadership of potential/emerging risks/issues and associated solutions
  • A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs
  • Ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence, compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals
  • Ability to lead and facilitate effective and productive meetings
  • Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment
  • Ability to complete tasks, as assigned, in a timely manner with high-quality results
