Whether a project involves a small-scale interior renovation, retrofit of existing systems, the development of complex commercial, transit, or healthcare facilities, or matters involving compliance issues with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, our clients trust our expertise and professionalism.

We're looking for engineers and architects to work at entry level roles with tremendous growth potential down the road. If you're someone who has keen interest in Building Codes and an ambition to make a career in this specialty, we want you on our awesome team in downtown Toronto office.

The quest!

  • You will work on a variety of projects related to design review for Building and Fire Code compliance. You will assist senior experts through the entire life cycle of the projects consulting for our clients in private and public sectors.
  • Manage project schedule, budget, and delivery.
  • Participate in representing LRI Engineering in interactions with clients.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction
  • Review construction drawings for code compliance and assist in developing alternative solutions that comply with the building and fire codes. Write project reports for submission to clients.
  • Assist in preparing and managing project budgets and proposals.
  • Assist in managing client expectations in terms of quality and schedule and responsiveness.
  • Provide support in pursuing business opportunities and contribute to marketing efforts as required.

What’s in your bag?

  • Relevant degree in engineering or architecture
  • Appetite for new learnings even if you have to start from scratch.
  • Great if you have some experience in, design review, and code compliance, working on medium to large size residential, commercial and institutional buildings
  • Some knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC) and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA)
  • Analytical, time management, and organizational skills
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
  • Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and clients
  • Able to obtain government security clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
