Job Description:

Intelligent Automation Platforms is looking for an Intake Lead to join our practice in building a world class automation factory. The successful candidate will use their experience in business analysis, business engagement, process design, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Power Platform to build meaningful business relationships, establish artifacts, build business cases, and drive value to our business units through automation. Working collaboratively with process owners, solution architects, operations and development teams, the candidate will build and manage a demand pipeline.

What will you do?

You will be leading the intake for Intelligent Automation, managing the demand pipeline and act as a liaison between business units and RPA/Power Platform development teams. You will be responsible for managing the intake, assessment, and triage of the RPA demand pipeline at Sun Life.

  • Strategically Lead Automation Intake -- spearhead the identification, assessment and prioritization of automation opportunities, ensure alignment with business goals and objectives

  • Manage Intake and Program -- take full ownership of the Intelligent Automation Intake and program management, streamline intake processes to efficiently identify and implement automation opportunities

  • Refine methodologies -- continuously improve the intake methodology based on evolving business needs and feedback, ensuring best practices are followed

  • Manage and prioritize the automation funnel - serve as the first point of contact for new opportunities, develop and maintain key artifacts such as process definition documents, business cases, and prioritization scorecards to help size, triage and prioritize automation opportunities.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable RPA solutions.

  • Assist and guide stakeholders by providing responses to inquiries about RPA and process automation ideas.

  • Present to business audiences to educate and inspire change, discuss automation opportunities, and drive adoption of RPA across business units. Provide insights into how automation can benefit employees.

  • Conduct detailed feasibility assessment and prioritization of processes identified for automation based on automation potential, cost-benefit analysis (CBA), and return on investment (ROI).

  • Work with cross-functional teams to build solutions and overcome barriers.

  • Document current state process maps for processes prioritized for automation.

  • Work closely with the RPA/Power Platform development teams to ensure automation development status is up to date on the Intake tool, monitor and report on the realized benefits of deployed automations

  • Stay up to date of the latest RPA technologies and best practices, and advocate for their adoption within the organization.

  • Set and achieve performance metrics -- establish clear performance indicators to measure the success of RPA initiatives and ensure that targets are met or exceeded

  • Ensure Benefit Realization -- take responsibility for the realization of benefits from RPA initiatives, monitoring outcomes to ensure expected value is delivered to the business

What do you need to succeed?

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an RPA-related role, with a proven track record of successful RPA project delivery.

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of RPA tools and platforms (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Platform).

  • Business analysis skills such as elicitation, creative problem-solving, influencing and negotiation skills to navigate complex scenarios in the name of moving initiatives forward

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in a consulting or business relationship management is an asset

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to drive discussions and meet objectives.

  • Ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player.

  • Strong understanding of process and technical design (focused on automation)

  • Strong understanding of, or certification in process analysis and Lean frameworks

  • Broad knowledge of business problems across functions and domains

  • Agile project management experience using Scrum

  • Adaptability and innovation in finding solutions to complex challenges.

  • Strategic thinking to align RPA initiatives with the organization's strategic goals.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
