About the Role & Team

The Director, Release Management role is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to take their release management career path to the next level. In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Release Management team which consist of Release Managers, Release Coordinators, and Release Engineers. The enterprise release management team oversees the end to end release delivery of theScore Media, theScore Bet and ESPN BET platforms which provides exposure to both non-regulated and regulated part of the sports media, sports betting and igaming industry. You will be challenged with the fast-paced nature of theScore's release delivery, multiple product portfolios, regulatory compliance, regular audits and to continuously improve our processes and teams to be the best in class.

About the Work

As the director of our release management team, team you will:

  • Manage the day to day functions, responsibilities and deliverables of the Release Management team
  • Liaise with the various stakeholders to ensure company key initiatives and/or releases are accounted for in the overall release management plans
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Communicate to all stakeholders at various levels key project plans, statuses, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, scope changes, test environment and other subjects as required
  • Work with QA, Development, DevOps, Product, TPM, Compliance and PMO to ensure that product development projects adhere to the release process and change procedure guidelines.
  • End to end oversight of all release delivery while ensuring compliance with all regulatory change management and audit protocols
  • Continuously improve the release management processes and mentor the team to be the best in class
  • Other duties as required

About You

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Previous experience managing Release Management, Change Management and/or Release Engineering teams
  • Solid understanding of project management and release management principles
  • Previous experience interfacing with regulatory authorities, auditors and third party partners and vendors is nice to have but not required
  • Experience with Apple App Store and Google Play Store release procedures
  • Experience with native mobile application build management tools (buddybuild, App Center, TestFlight, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and release processes
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Effective leadership, time/project management and analytical skills.
  • Degree in computer science/engineering, or equivalent knowledge and/or experience
