We are currently seeking a Coordinator, One-Time-Work-Order to support our Plant Maintenance team!


The Coordinator, One-Time-Work-Order is responsible for providing coordination functions associated with design and construction support for One Time Work Order Design (OTWOD) projects. The Coordinator will provide technical support during various phases of projects, both in the office and in the field. This includes repair, renovation, and rehabilitation work on the Commission's building facilities and related systems. The role covers all stages from inception, planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning and serving as the bridge between the design and construction activities.

What You Will Do

  • Review Work Order assignments and identifying relationships and conflicts.
  • File Construction Review documents and Issued-for-Construction documents within DMS (Document Management System) to comply with document retention policy.
  • Assist OTWO designers in determining the scope of work orders.
  • Identify stakeholders from various departments, to review designs and address issues.
  • Communicate with stakeholders during the design and construction phases.
  • Liaise with Corporate Safety and Environment department in conducting Designated Substance Survey and roof material sampling.
  • Coordinate the site utility locates (i.e. any buried services) work performed by external contractors.
  • Contribute to quality management by reviewing Issued-for-Construction documents for correctness, thoroughness and constructability and providing feedback to the design team.
  • Review As-built drawings for record retention and future reference.
  • Complete and submit application forms and drawings for permits, TSSA registration, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority construction permit, etc. and arranging fee payment.
  • Respond to stakeholders' comments related to safety, construction scheduling.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design efforts with other departments within the TTC.
  • Assist OTWO designers in redirecting work orders to other departments.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering combined with several years of directly related experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering drafting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD drafting programs for minor drawing revisions is considered an asset.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in relevant PC programs (Word, Excel, Project, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Your application will reveal strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
  • Your application will reveal comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge of Designated Substances as defined by the Ministry of Labour under Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of basic scheduling and cost estimating skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral communication, and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate the efforts of others to achieve objectives.
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • A valid non-probationary Province of Ontario Class 'G' Driver's license is required.
