As a co-op Software Development Intern, you will collaborate closely with our experienced team to design, develop, and implement software solutions that streamline and automate key business processes.

Job Description

Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Summer 2025 STUDENT placement with a start date of May 2025 and end-date of August 2025. To be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning to school after the work term end-date of August 2025; or
  • If you are not returning to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2025 or August 2025), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

We are seeking a talented and motivated candidate to join our Software Development team as a Software Development Intern. We are a fast and agile team that believes in balancing hard work with fun activities and a flexible work environment. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in leading edge technology and contribute to large-scale projects with real business impact.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop and implement software applications and features.
  • Be a technology advocate, share your expertise through RBC's wide developer network.
  • Be a key partner to the business and the team throughout the delivery cycle.
  • Work with business partners to define software requirements.
  • Think and work through challenging problems, finding solutions collaboratively.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance automation infrastructure and solution delivery by researching leading edge technologies, assessing technical feasibility and integration options, and developing proof of concept(s).

Must Have

  • Knowledge of the following technologies: C#, .NET, Python, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, GitHub, DevOps, MS SQL
  • Passion for Software Development and leading edge technologies
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of motivation, strong work ethic and self-starting attitude.
  • A quick learner with a positive mindset, collaborative nature and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the following technologies: Robotic Process Automation (PEGA, Power Automate, Blue Prism, UiPath), Cloud Services, System Architecture frameworks/concepts, Spring-Boot, Junit, SOAP/REST APIs, DevOps, Helios, Jenkins, UCD, OpenShift Containerization Platform (OCP), Node.js, Angula, Ansible, Vault, Dynatrace, PagerDuty
