What is the opportunity?

As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to students and newcomers and collaborate with RBC colleagues and partners to help students and newcomers to achieve their goals. This role will be focused on partnership development through the local on campus community that focus on helping new students with their financial needs. This role will be flexible and critical in establishing advice to the student community through events with your community partners. This unique position calls on your digital first advice expertise as well as collaboration skills with external & internal ONE RBC partners to maximize interactions. Specifically, together with your team, you will help clients and non-clients (primarily students) with their everyday banking, credit, investment needs as well as needs beyond banking. Whether you're demonstrating how to use digital banking, assisting through the new client on-boarding process, referring a more complex opportunity to a specialist or providing advice to students beyond RBC such as budgeting, living alone for the first time or even acclimatizing to Canadian culture. Your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable experiences that drive satisfaction and loyalty.

Work environment is primarily at your On Campus location but will also include virtual and other locations where your events may take place.

What will you do?

  • Build and grow partnerships with On Campus support services and student societies, to enable our ability to reach as many students as possible
  • You are a One RBC Advisor with a breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments and credit leveraging Advice Experiences with the ability to provide a robust digital first experience on both personal and business needs
  • Focus on student & newcomer education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive brand value and retain relationships
  • Inspire, orchestrate and pioneer superior partner and client experiences
  • Collaborate with One RBC Partners as well as partners beyond RBC to ensure students & newcomers receive customized, expert advice.
  • Travel in-market and on campus to meet with community partners and clients as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong understanding of our Student banking, Professional student banking and newcomer offers
  • A warm, friendly and approachable attitude with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first, as well as demonstrated success in a fast paced retail environment
  • Above average digital literacy across a broad range of devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) and can learn new technology very quickly
  • Superior emotional intelligence and situational awareness skills as well as problem solving and people skills with the ability to build strong relationships and to proactively connect with clients
  • Strong communication skills and a comfort level in public speaking during advice events.
  • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a flexible environment
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course)

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial or service industry
  • Able to speak/communicate financial advice in languages other than English an asset
