Full-Time Appointment
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Academic and Indigenous Program (AVPAIP) of Laurentian University, the Manager, Indigenous Programs and Academic Initiatives will work in collaboration with the AVPAIP and supervise the Truth and Reconciliation Coordinator to implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and forge a path forward towards reconciliation. The Manager of Indigenous Programs and Academic Initiatives will identify systemic barriers to attracting and promoting Indigenous faculty and staff and formulate effective solutions. This role will ensure compliance with Ministry directives and serve as an ambassador for Indigenous programs and promote programs to develop. The Manager of Indigenous Programs and Academic Initiatives will serve as an advisor and resource on inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge, tradition, culture and language in academic programming at the university. The Manager will have a personal connection with Indigenous academic communities.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
