Modern Niagara Ottawa is seeking an Electrical Project Coordinator to be part of our team and share our values and passion. We are looking for motivated, multi-faceted technically inclined coordinators who enjoy working on a wide variety of tasks, are quick to learn, and are keen to make a significant contribution to a successful and growing company. This opportunity is 100% in the office or based out of one of our Ottawa based job sites and requires Top Secreate Clearance. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide related administrative support to Project Managers, Project Teams, and Site Superintendent.
  • Aid Project Managers in the organization and distribution of project related documents and drawings from manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Data system entries such as set up of purchase orders for subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers, entry of change orders and distribution of change notices, monthly updates for WIP forecast sheets, updating construction schedule.
  • Create, log and track of communications and documents for the project.
  • Prepare project start-up binders.
  • Document control of all site paperwork.
  • Participate in operational meetings such as project delivery meetings, staff meetings, reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating Electrical Projects; including power distribution, lighting and lighting control, fire alarms, or solar.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly field work would be a strong asset.
  • Comfort and ability to work on site in a construction environment.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project or construction management software (Procore, BlueBeam( is an asset.
  • Experience with construction project estimation (Accubid) would be an asset.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sense of urgency and drive to succeed. Must be comfortable working within a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
  • Resourceful, problem-solver that is energetic and able to manage multiple priorities.
