GTA Region Finance is seeking an individual to join our team as a Real Estate Accountant (Capital Projects) who will be responsible for the timely recognition of commercial leasing and development capital within our portfolio. The GTA Region portfolio includes office, retail and industrial assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing the job set up and related commitments
• Management of vendor invoice payment process
• Management of holdback liability account
• Monthly calculation and posting building and leasing cost amortization and accruals
• Coordination and preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Calculation and invoicing of internal fees
• Generation of invoices for insurance claim reimbursement and recovery of construction costs from third parties
• Cyclical and ad hoc reporting
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education in accounting
• 2+ years of experience working in a real estate accounting environment
• Experience with Yardi will be an asset
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting contracts
• Job cost/capital experience beneficial
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Outlook, Teams, and Word
• Clear oral and written communication, team player, deadline driven and a self starter
