Profile

The Manager of Project Engineering is responsible for overseeing the portfolio of projects within the Engineering department, ensuring alignment with development, production, and requirements. This role involves close collaboration with the Engineering team and cross - functional engagement with internal departments such as Procurement, Programs, Aftermarket, Methods, Operations, Technical Support, Sales, Finance, as well as coordination with external suppliers.

This position emphasizes fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration, transparency, and accountability, creating an environment where the Project Engineering team can excel, grow, and develop professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership while coaching and motivating the Project Engineering team to ensure consistent application of best practices in managing scope, schedule, budgets, communication, and risks.
  • Establish annual budgets for the project portfolio and support Engineering with the overall budget process and alignment across the business.
  • Define, communicate, and execute effective project management across business units and develop standard project management practices to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Apply project management, and appropriate business practices in managing internal and external work enabling satisfaction of project outcomes.
  • Support Governance requirements and ongoing update of systems to ensure Project details are current and clear.
  • Participate in intra-company coordination supporting the efficient execution of work activities.
  • Support Project Management Initiatives, Involvement in process evolution and alignment with new tools and business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or business
  • 7+ years' experience in aerospace.
  • Proven experience in aerospace management position.
  • Proven experience working within established project management methodologies and a strong understanding and experience with project and change management principles.
  • Aerospace engineering working knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Budget and financial management experience
  • Extensive and proven experience in managing complex projects encompassing cross-departmental stakeholders, able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Mental agility, possessing the ability to manage multiple priorities/responsibilities simultaneously and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong Leadership and people skills.
  • Have excellent project management, communication, organizational, customer service and time management skills, foresight, accuracy and commitment to objectives and responsibilities.
  • Ability to engage and bring people together, build relationships and collaborate effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, conflict management skills, and risk management skills.
  • The candidate must be initiative-taking, autonomous and enthusiastic, possess excellent communications and human relations skills and be willing to travel.
