THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for an aspiring technical program manager to help to support AMD Security Co-Engineering with Microsoft and AMD’s leading Windows PC OEM partners with the focus on enabling Windows Security features for multiple AMD products. Solid program management of various software development teams, monitoring the quality of the resulting software deliverables and a strong partnership with the customer support teams are the key focus area of this role.

THE PERSON:

To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about driving technology enablement, security technologies and drive continuous innovation and features to evolve AMD’s Windows Security ecosystem. You must have solid knowledge of technical program management and a track record of delivering cross-functional technology programs. Must have technical depth to engage in discussions with engineering teams and partners. The position requires a highly collaborative mindset, exceptional communication skills and ability to present to and engage with stakeholders and leaders at multiple levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the planning and delivery of Windows platform security features on different AMD products, through coordination with engineering and other internal and external stakeholders
  • This position focuses on all aspects of the lifecycle of Windows Security features in different AMD products, from pre-silicon planning and bring-up readiness to component builds, validation, production release and OEM enablement
  • Help to drive co-engineering efforts with Microsoft and OEM partners
  • Execute on strategy and roadmap for the AMD Security technologies
  • Program manage cross-functional teams, influencing and supervising the overall Windows Platform Security ecosystem workflow, and forging positive relationships with various teams within and outside of AMD
  • Strong documentation and communication skills will be called upon frequently, especially in delivering streamlined, clear, and concise information to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Plan and execute programs focusing on quality and deadlines
  • Drives completion of all required deliverables, with a focus on customer quality feedback and established deadlines
  • Creates and maintains project management artifacts such as schedule, resource and resource forecast, risk and issues logs
  • Provides unique views of project status updates and facilitates cross development team dependencies and communications
  • Identify action or mitigation plans for issues or risks that arise during the project lifecycle
  • Collaborates with core teams and execution teams to identify areas that require special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions
  • Collect, analyze, organize and publish work performance data via dashboards and recurring status reports
  • Strong self-motivator, with a sense of urgency when needed and strong crisis management skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven Project & Program Management experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Software Development or Engineering based organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience is required, People management is desirable
  • Flexible working schedule to manage global program execution team (Asia and North America emphasis)
  • Agiledevelopment or certification is a bonus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired
