EXP is currently searching for a Project Manager to join our Construction Services Team in our Brampton Office. The environment is fast-paced and growth oriented, ideally suited for individuals who like to manage and grow business, develop client relationships; someone with a strong background in civil engineering driven to build on current successes.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Working under the direction of our Senior Director, Construction Services, you will manage projects across southern Ontario; with proven management of profitable projects; with strength and experience working with our strong base of existing client and forge strong alliances with new clients to build business.
  • Assume overall responsibility for successful delivery of medium to large-scale municipal and site development projects, through the construction and maintenance phases.
  • Ability to manage project scope, budget, schedule, and quality control for projects during construction.
  • Recognize the value of working in a strong team environment with a proven track record for quality product, and on time delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with other in-house EXP's disciplines including environment, geotechnical, hydrogeological, infrastructure and land development.
  • Supervise project teams, including design engineers, contract administrators and site inspectors, and other members of the project teams as part of EXP's full-service delivery programs.
  • Additionally, you will be required to provide Contract Administration support by performing in role as Contract Administrator when needed. Schedule meetings and coordinate with multiple stakeholders (e.g. clients, contractors, approving agencies, planners, other consultants, residents, etc.) as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Review Contractors' submissions (critical path schedules, change proposals, etc.) for compliance with contractual obligations and advise Client and Contractor accordingly.
  • Negotiate change orders and pricing issues and construction claims.
  • Prepare agendas, attending meetings, taking minutes of meetings.
  • Review quantities for payments, coordinate with Field Staff and process Contractor's payment.
  • Review and issue RFIs, RFQ, SIs and maintain tracking logs.
  • Coordinate review of shop drawings.
  • Review environmental and traffic control plans installed and advise of any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications/Standard Drawings (OPSS/OPSD's), and methods and materials associated with the works.

What your experience looks like

  • Relevant degree or diploma in civil engineering.
  • P.Eng license in Ontario with PEO or C.E.T. with relevant experience.
  • PMP certification consider as asset.
  • More than 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client management and project delivery, client satisfaction, and management of project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Expert in project management tools and methods such as MS Project, Excel, Word, PDF and SharePoint.
