The London office is looking for a 4- or 8-month period contract full-time Environmental / Ecology Student to join the Ecological Services team.

Duties:

  • Assist the ecology team in completing field work;
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of infrastructure projects, supporting the ecology team in the assessment of environmental impacts and development of mitigation strategies;
  • Assist the ecology team in preparing environmental reports and maps; and
  • Provide office support, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a third- or fourth-year Biology/Ecology/Environmental Science program at an accredited University or College;
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies;
  • Experience conducting biological inventories such as: botanical surveys, wetland evaluations, wildlife surveys, fisheries surveys, and Species at Risk habitat screening;
  • Experience using ArcGIS software to create maps;
  • Demonstrates superior communication skills in English, both oral and written;
  • Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere; and
  • Must have a valid G Class Driver's License and access to own vehicle.
