What will you be doing!

  • Reading, analyzing, providing advice and applying the contract in daily transactions and in minor disputes.
  • Co-ordinating and leading Contract Kick-off Meeting and Supplier Progress meetings.
  • Functioning as single point of contact (SPOC) on all commercial and contractual matters between CNL and the Supplier/Contractor.
  • Managing Contract Change Control to ensure that changes are identified early, evaluated, negotiated, documented and approved as per contract.
  • Logging, managing and tracking contract deliverables; facilitating the review and comment process and ensuring supplier documentation is filed in accordance with Document Control procedures.
  • Documenting, logging, managing and tracking decisions and events relevant to the contract through RFIs.
  • Verifying invoicing meets contractual requirements and monitoring payments to suppliers.
  • Working with Supply Chain Contract Officers, Supply Chain Management and legal team to interpret the contract and escalate disputes to the appropriate level as required
  • Developing contract execution plans in conjunction with the contract teams.
  • Providing advice and applying specialized knowledge in the development of contract administration processes, procedures and tools.
  • Verifying, in conjunction with the Contract Team, that the technical and commercial contract conditions are fulfilled throughout the contract
  • Verifying contract completion and ensuring that all work has been completed, that all deficiencies and administrative matters have been resolved.
  • Leading the development of report on performance, including monitoring of contract cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.
  • Conducting performance meetings in accordance with the frequency identified in the contract.
  • Participating in/leading lessons learned meetings and/or documenting and sharing any lessons learned that were identified during contract execution.
  • Participating in, and leading where identified, process/procedure creation/improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Post-secondary education in Business Administration/ Supply Chain Management/ Engineering/ Contract Administration.
    • SCMA Certification or enrolment in a Diploma program is an asset.
  • Experience
    • Three to five (3-5) years pertinent experience or eight (8) years of equivalent experience with projects and/or construction projects.
    • Experience with a variety of Quality Assurance programs.
    • Formal training and/or demonstrated experience in relationship management, conflict resolution and negotiation.
    • Technical background or demonstrated understanding of design/construction contracts would be an asset
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs would be an asset.
    • Knowledge and understanding of contract law, procurement practices/processes and tasks with emphasis on complex procurements where the participation of technical experts is required (technical experts, legal, quality assurance).
    • Demonstrated understanding of contract terminology and contract interpretation, contract strategies, pricing models and contract risks.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment both within Supply Chain and with internal clients.
    • Must be able to work independently, establish priorities in order to meet conflicting deadlines, and resolve conflicts promptly.
    • Strong computer skills. Advanced level capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
    • Outstanding organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities shown to maintain clear, concise documentation on all stages of the procurement.
    • Strong sense of accountability, work ethic and analytical skills required and demonstrated ability to lead others through influence rather than authority.
    • Willingness to put in extra hours as required.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
