Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Visual Merchandising & Design, you will lead the creative direction of visual presentations for assigned categories in all stores across Canada. Working closely with internal partners including Buyers, Merchandise Managers, Marketing teams as well as external agencies and vendors, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling and impactful in-store installations that elevate our brand image and drive sales through the use of storytelling, branded messaging and engagement tools. You will also provide ongoing support to various departments within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with internal partners and external agencies/vendors to develop and execute visual concepts and strategies aligned with the overall brand vision and business objectives.
• Lead the design and execution of visually stunning in-store displays, window presentations, and events that showcase key product stories and drive sales.
• Develop and maintain a seasonal calendar of themes and campaigns that align with key selling periods and brand initiatives.
• Provide ongoing support to cross-functional teams, such as marketing, communications, and operations, by developing customized solutions for special projects and initiatives.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess existing visual presentations and identify opportunities for improvement, providing feedback and guidance to store management and associates.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in retail visual merchandising, incorporating innovative ideas and approaches into your work.
• Mentor and coach junior members of the team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years' experience in Retail Visual Merchandising, preferably in a department store environment or similar.
• Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Interior Design or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of color theory, typography, composition, lighting and other visual elements.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) required; experience with 3D rendering software a plus.
• Experience with project management principles and timeline management.
• Ability to travel as needed for research, meetings, and installation projects.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials handling would be considered an asset.
