About the Opportunity

The Long Term Care Advisor (LTCA) reports to the Administrator of the Long Term Care (LTC) facility (Health Services Manager / HSM) and works in collaboration with the site leadership team to support the business operations of the LTC facility. This involves establishing business systems and processes to ensure that performance targets are met, using financial analysis, efficiency analysis, and budget planning including development of business cases and plans, and developing, recommending and implementing strategies for cost management. It also includes managing revenue from donations and supporting human resource planning within the budget received from the Department of Health and Wellness. The LTCA provides support to the appropriate Board of Directors and acts as a representative of the LTC facility to residents, families, the community, and business and government agencies.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Post secondary degree in Business or equivalent combination of training and/or experience
  • Three years' experience working in financial management with one year working in an acute or long-term care facility
  • Experience working in a unionized environment required
  • Project Management and change management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial information systems, payroll systems and collective agreements
  • Knowledge and understanding of health care environment and budget processes
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates leadership, innovation, communication and the ability to work with a team
  • Highly developed presentation and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary work teams to achieve successful execution of complex projects
  • Effective interpersonal and team management skills
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, accounting software, medication administration systems as required etc)
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent Full-Time Position, 75 Hours Bi-Weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$28.60 - $35.75 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
