Reporting to the Senior Manager of Video and Headend Operations the Engineering Project Technician will implements engineering designs for the modernization and expansion of the access network. They support access network operations by providing engineering tier working knowledge of the network and providing on-site hands and eyes for access network engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure head end electronics for the modernization and expansion of Eastlink's access network
  • Travel between Eastlink locations to transport, install, and maintain access network equipment
  • Identify and propose opportunities for modernization of the access network
  • Troubleshoot escalated access network issues that operations are not able to resolve
  • Accountable for operations for the Cole Habour headend.
  • On-call rotation (every other week)
  • PWA work when required (early mornings).

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of related telecommunications experience
  • Hands on experience with RF networks and troubleshooting
  • Ability to communicate technical information and work with customers / contractors
  • Ability to travel throughout the Maritimes to designated head- ends
  • Ability to be on-call and attend call outs as needed.
  • Valid driver's license
