What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master to join the BMCC (Brand, Marketing, Communications, & Citizenship) Tech team. You will be part of an agile development team that works with a broad range of technologies, internal teams, and third party vendor partners. You will be leading project management activities on a variety of small - large sized projects and demonstrate advance knowledge in all aspects of requirements planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, and support planning. In addition to executing on the book of work, you will also be collaborating, innovating, and ideating in a flexible environment.
You will be working on a broad range of exciting projects as a member of a cross-functional team of specialists (Scrum Master, Product Owners, Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UI / UX Designer). You'll have access to subject matter experts, coaches, technical training & resources, and will be reporting into the Senior Manager of Corporate Citizenship .

What will you do?

  • Facilitate Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC Agile/Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning
  • Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet LOB stakeholders' needs and expectations
  • Track and manage risks to delivery and reporting financials for the Team
  • Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team
  • Remove impediments to deliver success through the proactive management of external dependencies and simple team problem-solving, considering options and selecting solutions; escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment. Manage team performance to promote joint accountability for results and solve productivity issues
  • Facilitating and engaging in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms. Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • 3+ years experience in project delivery with agile teams
  • Experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis or other relevant professional experience
  • Experience with agile practices including scrum/Kanban, agile ceremonies (standups, backlog refinement, team demos) and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience delivering small to medium complex projects within agile team and Clear understanding of the various activities within a delivery project
  • Experience scheduling activities across all delivery teams to deliver a common capability, and Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile practices
  • Knowledge of collaboration tools - JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Planview and/or RBC MIS (Management Information System)
  • Basic financial experience
