About the Opportunity

The OPOR Clinical Engagement Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to the clinical engagement team within a patient-centered, collaborative practice model focused on OPOR-CIS and technology-enabled clinical adoption, support, and training activities. The Manager is responsible for driving effective engagement strategies and leading organizational change management initiatives to support successful clinical adoption and transformation.

Working collaboratively with management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the Manager applies strategic thinking and analytical expertise to overcome challenges, ensuring sustained and meaningful use of technology, including CIS, to enhance clinical best practices and deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective care. The goal is to improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Exhibiting sound professional judgment and initiative, the Manager aligns their efforts with the objectives of the OPOR Program, as well as the mission, vision, and strategic directions of IWK and NS Health.

The Clinical Engagement Manager will:

  • Lead clinical engagement and change management initiatives to drive clinical adoption of digital health solutions, emphasizing the value and impact on patient care.
  • Facilitate the intersection between clinical practice and technology, ensuring effective engagement strategies that resonate with diverse clinical teams.
  • Develop and execute organizational change readiness plans through provincial readiness platforms to foster broad engagement and buy-in.
  • Enhance clinicians' understanding of upcoming changes through targeted communications, training, and engagement efforts, boosting satisfaction and adoption of digital health practices.
  • Promote adherence to industry standards, accreditation, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Champion provincial clinical engagement, leveraging effective engagement and change management strategies to drive successful adoption and transformation across clinical environments.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in a health or technology related field. Consideration may be given to those with appropriate training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' leadership experience within healthcare (clinical, change management, etc.)
  • Strong clinical change management experience with the ability to apply systems and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the implementation of evidence-based change management practices in a clinical setting.
  • Broad knowledge of the applicable standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners.
  • Broad knowledge of clinical operations
  • Demonstrates strategic, creative and strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Uses effective leadership, facilitation, communication and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, achieve desired outcomes and address potential barriers to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute plans and ensure timelines are met while working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Exercises initiative, self-direction and problem solving abilities to identity gaps and opportunities for improvement.

About You Continued

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize current computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.) and computerized health care application(s).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean or related process improvement principles.
  • Project Management and change management certification would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consultation within a diverse range of stakeholder teams
  • Strong budgeting and project estimating skills.
  • Proven record of success working with staff, contractors, consultants, developers and clients.
  • Proven ability to apply quality management principles and processes.
  • Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles and processes.
  • Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
  • Significant experience in managing employees and resources.

Hours

  • Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 12 months (assignment length is subject to change)

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $56.81 Hourly
