PROJECT ACCOUNTANT (BAND LEVEL 7)

(Contractual Position to January 2, 2026- Maternity Leave)

DUTIES
The successful candidate will perform accounting and financial duties with respect to project and grant activities in the areas of applied research and development, industrial and international programs, and collaborative research projects with industry partners. Duties include developing financial reports; monitoring budgets; ensuring all appropriate costs are charged to cost centres; preparing analytical reports, quarterly and annual financial claims, and invoices as required; tracking in-kind contributions; meeting with faculty principal investigators and departmental administrative staff; ensuring effective and timely financial administration with respect to grant and research accounting and operating budgets; ensuring University policies and procedures are adhere to; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in university, governmental or commercial accounting; graduation from a four-year college or university with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Commerce; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Experience working in a computerized accounting environment and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of Banner Finance would be considered an asset.

SALARY $59,311 to $69,577 per annum (Band 7, NAPE Local 7850)
