Our Purpose
At Deloitte, we are driven to inspire and help our people, organization, communities, and country to thrive. Our Purpose is to build a better future by accelerating and expanding access to knowledge. Purpose defines who we are and gives us reason to exist as an organization.
By living our Purpose, we will make an impact that matters.
At Deloitte, our commitment is fueled by a purpose to create a meaningful impact for our clients, our people, and our communities by facilitating access to knowledge. For nearly three decades, we have collaborated with Indigenous leaders, communities, and organizations, investing our time and professional skills. Our goal is to dismantle barriers, whether in education or employment, to construct an inclusive and sustainable future for all. Rooted in a vast community of Indigenous and ally voices and underscored by our recent achievement of a Silver level certification in the PAIR program from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, we persistently work towards advancing reconciliation. This commitment permeates all facets of our firm and is steered by our comprehensive Reconciliation Action Plan.
Are you a First Nations, Métis, or Inuk Human Resource Specialist who wants to be a part of a diverse, dynamic team helping to make a significant impact at Deloitte? A role with Deloitte’s Indigenous Talent Strategy Centre of Excellence team is an opportunity to make an impact in shaping our firm for the future, starting with our most important assets, our people.
As part of Deloitte’s Indigenous Talent Strategy Centre of Excellence, you will play a key role in assisting in the execution of Deloitte Canada’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Indigenous Talent Strategy based on the guiding commitments under the pillars of Education, Economic Empowerment, Employment, and Inclusion. This role will leverage your skills to develop, plan, engage, assess and manage Indigenous programs and policies in coordination with the team at Deloitte. This position will also partner with other Indigenous professionals, both on our talent team and across the firm, to develop custom retention strategies and programs to increase employment opportunities for Indigenous Peoples across the firm.
This position offers the flexibility to work remotely; however, it’s important to note that some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on specific project needs and collaboration requirements.
The Indigenous Talent Strategy Centre of Excellence team collaborates with internal clients and across the Talent organization to provide strategic insight and develop a tailored strategy of targeted events and other programs to ensure an exceptional talent experience. The team advises on, implements, and executes the Indigenous Talent Strategy, providing full-lifecycle support. You will work alongside other members of the team and other subject matter experts within our broader Culture and People Office team.
You will also be joining our growing Indigenous community at Deloitte – which consists of Indigenous employees (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) across Turtle Island working in several different service lines at the firm. On top of participating in and celebrating Indigenous cultures both in the workplace and individually through paid cultural days, our Indigenous community helps provide invaluable advice to the different areas of the firm on advancing reconciliation in a corporate setting.
This role is best suited for a motivated self-starter, who thrives in ambiguity, and brings insights and recommendations to our team. Project management skills are beneficial as is the ability to partner with cross-functional teams. Delivering on the Indigenous Talent Strategy and establishing collaborative relationships across the firm in the building, planning, scoping and delivery of projects that seek to drive Indigenous success will be critical components of the role.
In this role the expected qualifications are:
• Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuk, Métis) in Canada
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Indigenous Human Resources
• Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs focused on inclusive practices
• Experience working with First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples (and communities and expertise in issues faced by Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada)
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to furthering reconciliation with Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples
• Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively to promote diversity and inclusion efforts.
• Demonstrated project and HR lifecycle program management experience: organization, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients, English is required for this position.
