OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

The Content Marketing Strategist role at OpenText is responsible for managing the strategic foundation for all content marketing efforts and oversees the planning and development of content across the company and across channels to result in a simple yet compelling set of assets that supports the entire customer journey.

Your Impact:
As a Content Marketing Strategist within the Product Marketing organization, you will be a critical contributor to our Content Strategy team and one of the chief storytellers for the Analytics and Legal Tech business units. You will have creative freedom to continuously evolve our communications strategy, test new methods and frameworks, and drive innovation. You will collaborate with Product Marketing, Brand, and Demand to define, maintain, and execute a modern content strategy framework that will drive creation efforts for business unit initiatives.

You will partner with Brand, Digital and Demand to create compelling content experiences that push the boundaries of traditional and modern mediums that will engage prospects, customers, and partners to increase awareness and demand. You will collaborate with in-house Creative Services and external agencies to develop final assets such as advertising, graphics, illustrations, and videos to effectively communicate our message and drive pipeline. You will operate cross-functionally to assess and solve complex creative and technology-based content challenges and become an agent of change.

What the role offers:

You operate with both a "think" and "do" attitude—being able to establish the big picture strategy, but equally able (and willing) to roll up your sleeves to brief creatives, write content and execute your strategy to bring your vision to life. You are equally able to operate both conceptually and analytically to drive and inspire successful creative ideas and technology solutions while leveraging data to demonstrate performance, uncover insights, and drive improvement.

  • Overseeing the creation of innovative and engaging content to communicate a powerful yet simple business-oriented message.
  • Collaborating with leadership to form an opinion in your market and create thought leadership.
  • Working closely with the internal Creative Services team (and external agencies) to advocate for customer-first product messaging to amplify drive awareness, generate leads, and support the customer journey.
  • Publishing guidelines and enablement tools to support the development of engaging content aligned to the buyer/customer journey.
  • Measuring the results of marketing activity to inform future content strategies, marketing campaigns, and thought leadership programs.
  • Implementing SEO best practices, in collaboration with the Digital Marketing and SEO team
  • Championing excellent customer experiences by aligning customer needs with compelling buyer-centric content and the platform, or medium, best suited for delivering it
  • Working cross-functionally to optimize systems and processes that create an efficient approach to content creation, dissemination, testing, and iteration.
  • Independently mentoring internal teams on how to strategically plan and create great content by providing frameworks, templates, concepts, governance, and education.

What you need to succeed:

  • 6+ years leading large-scale content projects in a software organization or in a media environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, or other related field
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop effective persona-based communications
  • Track record of planning and executing content marketing programs that increase engagement and conversion
  • Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate with various stakeholders, including executive leadership
  • Experience with implementing SEO best practices
  • Familiar with Content Lifecycle Management methodologies and tools
  • Product marketing, brand, or campaign experience for a software organization is an asset
  • A portfolio of your previous content will be requested

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with writing marketing messaging for Analytics, AI and/or Legal Tech solutions
  • Proficiency with content analytics, optimization, and experimentation tools
  • Experience working with external agencies, freelancers or contractors
  • Ability to lead conversations within cross-functional team environments
