Main Purpose & Function
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Special Projects branch, this senior Project Manager (PM2) will be part of a small team and play a lead role in developing a departmental action plan for managing improvements to the processes that Engineering Services undertakes to support development review activities within the City of Vancouver. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for actively monitoring progress on the departmental action plan and recalibrating departmental efforts, as necessary. The PM2 will also play a leadership on several key initiatives including data metrics linked to development activity, service level agreements, financial implications, process documentation, and the implementation of new technology for modernizing our development application review processes.
The position is focused on supporting transformative change within Engineering Services and will be required to work effectively with staff across much of the department, as well as Planning, Urban Design & Sustainability; Development Buildings & Licensing; and Strategy and Project Support Office.
The PM2 may also be required to provide backup coverage for the Associate Director in their absence.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 - 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
