New City Contracting is currently hiring a Senior Site Superintendent with extensive experience in managing large-scale mechanical and electrical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of on-site construction, ensuring compliance with company standards on safety, quality, cost control, and timely delivery.

Location: Richmond, BC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to schedule and plan construction activities
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Construction Project Manager
  • Oversee daily sign-ins and sign-outs via Sitemax
  • Coordinate material requirements with the Project Coordinator on a weekly basis
  • Attend and actively participate in site meetings with trades and engineers
  • Record and maintain minutes for bi-weekly engineer-driven meetings
  • Supervise and ensure the quality of trades' work and installations
  • Address and resolve any issues with trades as they arise
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of trades
  • Manage work coordination with subcontractors
  • Ensure safe working conditions are consistently maintained on-site
  • Follow up on SVR and SI to ensure trade completeness and QA
  • Ensure that trades complete work according to POs and COs


Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent, with a focus on large mechanical and electrical projects
  • A degree or diploma in a related field, along with relevant bonding and certifications
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Experience in preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
  • Proven ability to create realistic schedules and ensure timely project completion
  • Demonstrated cost control measures and strong project management abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple conflicting demands effectively
  • Strong delegation skills, with the ability to set expectations and monitor progress
