Detailed Overview

In collaboration with the Surgical Director, OR Managers, front line staff and BCCSS, this role is responsible for the analysis, coordination and conduct of audits related to Supply Chain and System effectiveness within the Surgical Network across Fraser Health. Oversees and supervises supply analysts and/or DPC clerks, as appropriate/required.

Analyzes and evaluates findings; develops recommendations on system and process improvements to ensure data quality and compliance with MOH standards/requirements; provides information related to data quality and operational requirements to user departments and related areas.

Provides supervision and oversight to Supply Analyst(s) and/or DPC clerks as required/appropriate, including the coordination and evaluation of staff training and orientation; assists in staff selection; provides support and assistance in the development and implementation of Supply Chain & Scheduling standards, policies and processes, including the coordination of Change Management processes. Conducts and implements projects as assigned.


Responsibilities

  1. Conducts inventory needs assessments at OR sites across the Surgical network, including the resolve of inventory issues, working in collaboration with OR managers, surgeons and front line staff.
  2. Performs reviews and audits related to supply chain data quality and system processes & practices across the Surgical Network. Reviews OR information requirements for acute sites; analyzes and evaluates audit findings; develops recommendations on data quality and system process improvements.
  3. Develops and generates information reports related to Supply Chain user departments and/or MOH requirements. Provides quality-related statistics to the Director and the regional committee governance structure on a regular and/or requested basis by working collaboratively with all levels of staff and OR management.
  4. Provides oversight and supervision to Supply Analysts or designated staff as appropriate. Determines and evaluates staff training requirements, conducts staff evaluations; coordinates training and orientation for new staff. Assists the Director in the selection of staff by participating in interviews, providing input and making recommendations.
  5. Coordinates the implementation of Quality Improvement initiatives utilizing Change management processes. Evaluates the outcomes of changes to policy and processes through analysis and evaluation of data integrity/quality. Recommends adjustments to policy and process improvement on an on-going basis.
  6. Establishes and maintains effective relationships and liaison with BCCSS and FH warehouse.
  7. In collaboration with business analysts, participates in establishing and preparing standards, procedures and instructions that contribute to the effectiveness of processes and systems.
  8. Provides support to management by monitoring expenditures to determine trends and future expenditures which impact budget. Advises Director of status of budget on regular basis.
  9. Provides support for system integration testing, updates, and trouble shooting with users.
  10. Liaises with other disciplines to ensure that standards and policies are developed in accordance with the needs of other departments and end users.
  11. Participates in user meetings; assists and/or undertakes a variety of projects as assigned by Director as appropriate.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Graduation from a recognized Diploma Program in a health, business, Supply Chain or technology related discipline plus three (3) years experience in a supply chain or supply systems environment, including one (1) year supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License; access to a vehicle for business- related purposes.

  • Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications
