The Role:

We are actively seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our Transportation Team in Alberta.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic professional to lead transportation infrastructure projects including preliminary engineering, detailed design, tender preparation, construction services and post construction particularly with the Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors and local municipalities in Alberta.

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills, and attributes:

  • Post secondary education in civil engineering (Degree, technical diploma or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience on coordinating and managing project teams on transportation projects. Experience with management and mentoring of project staff.
  • Good understanding of QA / QC / QM as well as OH&S practices / requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors design guidelines and construction specifications.
  • Possess a valid driver's licenses and be willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Transportation Project Manager you will be responsible for supervising, assisting and coordinating our project teams during design and construction project phases while also maintaining strong communication and correspondence with project clients and stakeholders.

  • Oversee the delivery of Transportation & Infrastructure related projects to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, Municipalities and other clients within the Province; design through construction.
  • Prepare proposals, tender documents, project cost estimates, monitor budgets, and forecasting.
  • Manage deadlines for project deliverables.
  • Coordinate, organize and manage the activities of project staff through preliminary engineering, detail design, contract preparation, construction and post construction phases.
  • Provide construction and contract administration expertise, leadership, and mentoring of staff.
  • Coordinating project requirements with environmental, geotechnical, utility relocation, and land acquisition disciplines and sub-consultants as necessary.
  • Liaison with clients, stakeholders and the project team.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations forming our Health, Safety & Environmental management system.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.
