The Construction Engineering Technology program is looking for a dynamic, energetic individual with strong communication skills who is committed to student success, satisfaction, motivation, and achievement and in participating in the team concept of program operation.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and presenting classes in classroom and lab settings
Organizing and supervising practical student assignments
Conducting student evaluation and maintaining progress records
Seeking feedback from students on instruction
Participating in course reviews, program reviews and curriculum development
Maintaining contact with relevant industry and professional associations
Participating in activities such as NAIT's Open House and NAIT related activities and committees
Participating in program events such as Bridge Building, Industry Night, Student Club, etc.
Skills & Abilities:
Project Management, or Strong background in the fundamentals of the Construction Engineering Technology program
Basic computer literacy is required, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledgeable in structural and/or geotechnical engineering or soil mechanics
Knowledgeable about managing CCDC, municipality/governmental, or subcontractor contracts
Estimating knowledge
Up to date on emerging construction trends, technologies, and software related to the design/construction of commercial/institutional/industrial projects would be an asset
Knowledgeable about building envelopes, sustainable building practices, and/or mechanical and electrical systems
Qualifications:
Diploma in Construction Engineering or Architectural Technology from a recognized Technical Institute is required
Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Architecture or Engineering (Construction/Civil or a related area) considered an asset
Eligibility for registration with APEGA, ASET or AAA is an asset
Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in construction project management and/or estimating with a general contracting firm or similar (commercial/institutional/industrial)
Experience in structural and/or geotechnical engineering or soil mechanics would be an asset
Experience in managing CCDC, municipality/governmental, or subcontractor contracts would be an asset
Experience in estimating would be an asset
Experience in the emerging construction trends, technologies, and software related to the design/construction of commercial/institutional/industrial projects would be an asset
Experience with building envelopes, sustainable building practices, and/or mechanical and electrical systems would be an asset
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification - Instructor).
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
