What is the Indigenous Peoples Development Program (IPDP)?

The primary goal of this program is to provide valuable insights, experiences, and exposure to potential employment opportunities to Indigenous post-secondary students, while also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contributions. By participating in this 1-day program, student participants will gain a broader perspective and develop meaningful connections within Gibson Energy and our commitment to Indigenous relations initiatives. For example: economic inclusion, employment, and education. Students may be considered for Summer 2025 employment opportunities and advised on next steps to commence the event.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Indigenous students currently enrolled in an undergraduate post-secondary degree program at a university or polytechnic institution
  • Availability to attend the full day on Thursday, November 7th

Programs of Study that qualify for IPDP:

  • Bachelor of Science degree majoring in: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Chemistry, Computer Science Technology
  • Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in: Economics, Communication and Media, Indigenous Studies.
  • Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in: Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Community Economic Development.
  • Diplomas & Certificates and Trades: Power Engineering Technology, Chemical Technology, Chemical Laboratory Technology, Instrumentation Engineering Technology (or Measurement Instrumentation), Electrician, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Technologies, Information Technology Services, Cyber Security Certificate, Data Analytics.
