The Opportunity

The Operations Maintenance & Support (OM&S) team supports the planning and execution of complex facility maintenance for Canada Gas Operations (CGO). To assist with this, a new team called Reliability Execution will be established under OM&S.

Reliability Execution will manage facility complex maintenance tasks for Canada Operations Technical Services (COTS) and CGO, ensuring projects are executed consistently while continuing to be well-coordinated, cost-effective, and safely executed.

This new team will be led by the Manager, Reliability Execution and will report to the Senior Manager OM&S. The Manager, Reliability Execution will be responsible for establishing a team and supporting processes to effectively triage, manage and execute facility complex maintenance work falling outside the day-to-day scope of normal operations. This talented leader will provide oversight and leadership to the Reliability Execution team, ensuring effective project and maintenance coordination, work prioritization, cost control, and contractor management.

What You'll Do

  • Establish the Reliability Execution team, comprising of project managers located across CGO. The team will also include a business analyst to support with forecasting, coordinating requisitioning through work management, invoicing, and trending monthly costs for the individual projects within each program.
  • Manage a portfolio of facility maintenance and reliability projects with accountability for budget, schedule and reporting functions, delivering safely, on time and on budget.
  • Build and lead a high performing team through the successful implementation of the developed plans, activities and strategies. Coach and develop the capabilities and talents of the team to consistently deliver high quality service and impactful business outcomes.
  • Support the execution of unplanned complex maintenance (break-fix and break-in) providing rapid response to CGO leaders to address urgent issues.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in COTS, CGO, Work Management, Project Execution, Environment, Land, Indigenous Relations, Project Controls, and others.
  • Drive continuous improvement and learning by keeping an open mind, questioning the status quo (as appropriate), and implementing lessons learned to improve project outcomes.
  • Support the formation of the OM&S organization including:
  • Executing the change management plan, including the assessment of current state, developing the future state vision, ideation and planning, and team building.
  • Mapping the team processes for complex maintenance development, planning, and execution, and ensuring alignment with existing project and work management processes.
  • Develop and maintaining formal processes and procedures for project execution, including, but not limited to: Playbooks, Project Templates, Project Delivery Plans, Roadmaps, and Contract Documents
  • Lead the development of project planning, project management tools, templates and processes by identifying and applying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain regular communication with client groups and key stakeholder to solicit feedback on team performance and quality of service. Take action to respond to feedback and implement int work practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of related experience leading in operations, work management, projects, engineering.
  • Post secondary degree in Business, Engineering, Sciences, or a technical trades certification in a related field.
  • Demonstrates a highly collaborative leadership approach across a broad geographical footprint, with remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Skilled at establishing teams and leading change.
  • Skilled in building influence and alignment to support the creation of a new team while aligning with existing corporate processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Change management experience or certification.
  • Previous experience with Regional Asset Reliability, Pipe Integrity, In Line Inspection, Measurement, Emissions, Fleet, Cathodic Protection, Abandonment, and/or Post Construction Reclamation projects
  • Quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with all levels of the organization effectively in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage varied tasks, adapt to changing tasks and identify appropriate prioritization for timely execution.

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (a record) for review
  • This position will involve travel and overnight stays away from home (estimated up to 40% of work schedule during peak work periods)
  • Occasionally be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours, call-out support and emergency support as needed.
  • Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
  • Travel across North America to other company or supplier locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up 10% of work schedule)
