The Opportunity

The Operations Maintenance & Support (OM&S) team supports the planning and execution of complex facility maintenance for Canada Gas Operations (CGO). To assist with this, a new team called Reliability Execution will be established under OM&S. This team will manage facility complex maintenance tasks for Canadian Operations Technical Services (COTS) and CGO, ensuring projects are executed consistently while continuing to be well-coordinated, cost-effective, and safely executed.

As the Business Analyst, Reliability Execution you will be a key contributor to the management of facility complex maintenance work to achieve reliable operation and continuous improvement of all assets located within TC Energy's Canadian pipeline systems. This role will report to the Manager, Reliability Execution.

This role is for an intermediate to senior level business analyst that can support with forecasting, coordinating requisitioning through work management, invoicing, and trending monthly costs for the individual projects within each program. This talented individual will also work with stakeholders on process refinements focusing and team start-up that will help establish the processes, systems and tools for the Reliability Execution team.

Please Note: These positions may require travel to various company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Manager - Reliability Execution with the program management of facility maintenance and reliability projects and programs.
  • Support with forecasting, coordinating requisitioning through work management, invoicing, and trending monthly costs for the individual projects within each program.
  • Support the formation of the OM&S organization including:
  • Executing the change management plan, including the assessment of current state, developing the future state vision, ideation and planning, and team building.
  • Mapping the team processes for complex maintenance development, planning, and execution, and ensuring alignment with existing project and work management processes.
  • Develop and maintaining formal processes and procedures for project execution, including, but not limited to: Playbooks, Project Templates, Project Delivery Plans, Roadmaps, and Contract Documents.
  • Work with stakeholders on process refinements focusing on efficiency gains and time savings while maintaining required level of detail/reporting.
  • With wide latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment, develops and writes conceptual business process design specifications; or plans, analyzes, coordinates and supports the information needs of department executives.
  • Identifies, researches and defines issues of potential strategic importance.
  • May act as change agent and deliver training for the company through implementation of new processes, programs and technologies.
  • Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years of related project management experience
  • Familiarity with project/program management principles and practices.
  • Proficient in PC-based computer systems and software applications with an emphasis on SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, Master Plan. and Project
  • Proven ability to embrace and lead change and quickly understand new processes and related issues.
  • Strong ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with all levels of the organization effectively in a clear and concise manner.
  • Post secondary degree in Business, Engineering, Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Master of Business Administration degree.
  • Change management experience or certification (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Previous experience with Regional Asset Reliability, Pipe Integrity, In Line Inspection, Measurement, Emissions, Fleet, Cathodic Protection, Abandonment, and/or Post Construction Reclamation projects

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (~25%)
